Zulum unveils job portal for applicants in Borno

Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has unveiled the state’s job portal to cater for two million applicants in the 27 council areas of the state.

The newly established Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MSTI), headed by its Commissioner Dr. Babagana Mustapha created the job portal.

Inaugurating it at Government House, Maiduguri yesterday, Zulum said: “The job portal was to generate a database containing educational and professional expertise for all categories of citizens.

“The aim is to identify potentials for employment at federal, state and local levels, including the Organised Private Sector (OPS) in Borno. It could also create opportunities for capacity development and entrepreneurship,” he said.

He added that it could also address youths unemployment, as contained in State Government’s 10-point agenda, adding: “The database generated will be deployed not only to creating jobs for applicants, but also to identify opportunities.”
