2027: APC will displace PDP in Enugu, Ganduje vows

• Receives Enugu LP Reps member, others into party
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, at the weekend, vowed that his party would displace the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government in Enugu State in 2027.

He said that the PDP government in Enugu State “is on its last term”. Ganduje also decried what he called “high taxation against the poor masses” by the PDP-led government of Enugu State.

Ganduje spoke at Akama-Oghe, in Ezeagu Local Council of the state, when he led the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, and other prominent members of the party to officially receive the member representing Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Sunday Cyriacus Umeha, and the entire Labour Party structure in the constituency into the APC.

Umeha’s defection is the first by any elected political officeholder to the APC in Enugu since the inception of the party in 2014.

Those who defected with him included Dennis Amadi, former member of House of Representatives (Udi/Ezeagu, 2015-2023), and Enugu West Senatorial candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 general elections; Emma Ogbozo, LP House of Assembly candidate, Udi North Constituency; Chibuzor Onyema, LP House of Assembly candidate, Udi South, as well as the entire LP executives in the 40 Wards and two local council areas of Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency.

Speaking at the reception, Ganduje, who was represented by the APC Deputy National Chairman, South, Emma Enukwu, declared that the party would take over the governance of Enugu State in 2027, boasting that the current PDP-led government is on its way out.

Ganduje said: “APC is the transformer giving light to Nigeria; even the Governor (Peter Mbah) himself is running around begging to know if he will join APC. But we say no! I’m telling all the LP members that the person who asked me to come here is the National Chairman of APC, Dr Umar Abdullahi Ganduje.

“He said I should tell Cyriacus Umeha, Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi, and all those that joined APC with them, including Emma Ogbozo my friend, that you have made the right decision. You will not be disappointed”.
