2027 Lagos Guber Election: Jandor refutes claims APC has preferred aspirant

2027 Lagos APC governorship aspirant, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor

Dr. Azeez Olajide Adediran, known as Jandor, has refuted claims that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has a preferred aspirant ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Lagos State.

On Saturday in a statement signed by Gbenga Ogunleye, his spokesperson, Jandor said that that a credible primary by the APC will decide the nominee.

“We note the ongoing speculations alleging that a preferred aspirant has been anointed for our party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 Lagos governorship election,” the statement read.

“We restate, in line with the official position of the Lagos State APC leadership as communicated by the State Chairman, that no aspirant has been anointed and that all aspirants will participate in a credible primary election.”

Ogunleye said that his principal, Jandor, is firmly committed to this process and is preparing accordingly, engaging party members and strengthening his grassroots structures.

At the same time, he said his boss remains guided by party discipline, and should the party’s leader and the leadership resolve to adopt a consensus candidacy, Jandor will fully align with that decision, irrespective of who emerges.

“This is a position anchored on his readiness to compete, and a willingness to submit to the collective will of the party,” Ogunleye said.

Jandor has, therefore, urged APC members not to mistake a campaign by an individual or a political group for their choice aspirant as the party’s position or that of our Leader.

“When the party and our leader speak, I am sure no one will do otherwise,” Ogunleye quoted Jandor as saying.
