Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke

The Association for Credible Leadership in Nigeria (ACLN), Secretariat, New Jersey, USA, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the victory as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in his leadership by the people of the state.

The association, in a congratulatory message signed by its President, Adewale Adefowoju, also commended the people of Osun State for their participation in the just-concluded governorship election and their commitment to defending their democratic rights.

ACLN said Adeleke’s victory was a testament to his perseverance, dedication, and commitment to the people of Osun State, while wishing him a successful second term in office.

The statement read in part: “The Association for Credible Leadership in Nigeria (ACLN) Secretariat, New Jersey, USA, warmly congratulates His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, fondly known as Imole, on his re-election as the Governor of Osun State.”

It added: “This victory is a testament to the confidence and trust that the people of Osun State have placed in your leadership. We commend you for your perseverance, dedication, and commitment to the people of Osun State, and we wish you an even more successful tenure in office.”

The association also appreciated the opposition political parties, their candidates, supporters, and members who participated in the election, noting that their involvement strengthened the democratic process and provided voters with meaningful choices.

“We sincerely appreciate all the opposition parties, their candidates, supporters, and members who participated in the election. Your participation strengthened the democratic process and gave the people of Osun State meaningful choices at the ballot box,” it said.

ACLN further commended the people of Osun State for what it described as their courage, vigilance and active participation in the election.

It said, “We also extend our sincere appreciation to the entire people of Osun State for their courage, vigilance, and active participation in the just-concluded governorship election. Your determination to stand up for your democratic rights and defend your votes is worthy of commendation.”

According to the association, the Osun election offered an important lesson for Nigerians, particularly on the need for citizens to actively participate in the democratic process and protect the integrity of their votes.

“The Osun experience offers an important lesson to all Nigerians: when citizens stand together, participate actively, and defend their votes, their voices can and will prevail,” the statement said.

The group therefore urged Nigerians across the country to emulate the people of Osun State by participating responsibly in elections and ensuring that their votes count at every level of government.

It said citizens must recognise the power of their collective voice, stressing that democracy could only be strengthened when the electorate remained vigilant and refused to be indifferent to the political process.

“Democracy is strengthened when citizens refuse to be indifferent. Our collective vigilance, unity, and commitment to doing what is right can help build the Nigeria we all desire,” ACLN stated.

The association again congratulated Adeleke and the people of Osun State, expressing optimism that the governor’s renewed mandate would bring greater progress, peace, development and prosperity to the state.

ACLN said its vision was to advocate for a Nigeria governed by leaders who are trustworthy, competent, accountable and patriotic.

It added that its mission was to become a recognisable socio-political force advocating for the emergence of credible, competent, accountable and patriotic leaders in Nigeria.
