Adeleke brokers peace among Ife PDP stakeholders

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has brokered peace within the Ife Federal Constituency of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), charging all stakeholders to beware of agents of division allegedly prompted by the opposition.

This was contained in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, which was made available to journalists in Osogbo yesterday. It is recalled that the PDP in Ife Federal Constituency had recently passed a vote of no confidence on the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, and former National Secretary of the party, Prof. Wale Oladipo, accusing the duo of anti-party activities.

However, Adeleke was able to restore peace during a high-powered reconciliation meeting attended by the stakeholders. The crisis was declared resolved with a common resolution to forget and forgive with a view to achieving electoral victory during the August 8, 2026, governorship poll in the state.

The statement reads in part: “Governor Adeleke, rounding up the meeting, described the recent disagreement as a product of a communication gap and deliberate efforts of some external forces to sow seeds of discord within the party.commending the leaders for their openness and brotherhood.

“Throughout this meeting today, I see Ile Ife PDP very truly united. I listen to all the leaders here and I see clearly a communication gap among them. There is also a strong sign of an outsider plot to divide the Ife PDP.

“Now that we have seen the roots of the matter, I charge us to get back to work. Our administration has done so much for Ifeland, and we are still going to do more.”

Earlier, the state party Chairman, Sunday Bisi, described the incident leading to the vote of no confidence on Adewusi as a family affair, adding that “all parties have demonstrated true love for the party.

“We are glad that all issues have been ironed out. It is the resolution of this meeting that all statutory meetings for party mobilisation should reconvene, and party members and leaders should decisively frown on any act capable of misinterpretation as anti-party activity”, the party chairman told the meeting.
