The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is on course to reclaim all three senatorial districts and 14 federal constituencies in Oyo State during the 2027 general elections.
Olatunji made the assertion while congratulating Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle on his landslide victory in the just-concluded Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election.
He praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his visionary leadership, describing him as a political ladder through which others have risen, and credited the governor’s achievements for strengthening the party’s dominance in the state.
“The victory of Hon. Oyekunle Don is not only a testament to the growing popularity of our party but also a clear indication of the people’s trust in Governor Makinde’s administration,” Olatunji said.
“The people of Oyo State have spoken loudly through the Ibadan North bye-election. By 2027, PDP will reclaim all senatorial and House of Representatives seats currently held by the opposition. The trust in PDP is unshakable, and Makinde’s achievements remain our strongest campaign tool.”
Olatunji lauded Oyekunle for his resilience and grassroots appeal, urging him to deliver quality representation at the House of Representatives.
He also commended Ibadan North LG Chairman, Hon. Seun Olufade, and the local PDP leadership for “owning the campaign project” and reclaiming the federal seat.
He called on party members to remain united and focused ahead of the next general elections, stressing that the PDP is positioned to sustain its political dominance in Oyo beyond 2027.
