Caution PDP govs, leaders against early celebration
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank has alleged that the Presidency and security chiefs have held another meeting to finalise plans of rigging in states where elections were declared inconclusive.

He said he was privy to credible information that President Muhammadu Buhari, Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai and acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abubakar Adamu, held the midnight meeting.

In a statement in Abuja yesterday, he alleged that the meeting was convened at the behest of the Presidency on how to perfect victory for APC in Rivers, Sokoto, Bauchi, Kano, Adamawa and Plateau states.Frank, an ally of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, said this was the third time Yakubu and others were secretly meeting the President at midnight.

He alerted that INEC was out to repeat the way APC stole the mandate freely given to Atiku during the Presidential election and in the rescheduled rerun polls in the six states.

According to him, the latest meeting took place in the Glass House of the Presidential Villa, which started at 1:30am and lasted for about an hour.Frank claimed that Yakubu arrived the Presidential Villa in the same Armoured BMW 7 series vehicle with Buratai and were later joined by other APC leaders.

“Our Eagle eye in the presidential Villa has exposed another secret meeting against Nigeria by the people we trusted with power. The latest meeting is meant to finalise strategies on how to rig the six states where elections were declared inconclusive for the APC.

“I challenge Yakubu to deny that he has not been meeting with the President. History will always remember the 2019 general elections and the role played by Yakubu, will not be forgotten in a hurry,” Frank stated. He, however, charged serving and elected governors, National Assembly members and other PDP stakeholders not to celebrate any victory yet until the affected states were declared.

“The plan is to adopt the Osun template for the rerun elections. PDP leaders must speak out against militarisation of elections, the plot of the latest meeting should not be allowed to materialise because the APC government will do everything possible to rig the rerun polls,” Frank added.

While calling on international community to continue to keep an eye on Nigeria’s electoral process, Frank said statements issued by European Union (EU) and United Kingdom (UK) to condemn militarisation of last Saturday’s governorship election have vindicated his earlier position.“I also urge the Sultan of Sokoto, General Abdulsalam Abubakar-led Peace Committee, which has been silent in the face of injustice-and other leaders to call the Buhari-led government to order.
