Akwa Ibom State government has described the insecurity allegations in the state by the All Progressives Congress (APC) as imaginary.

It dismissed the alarm raised against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government as trying to bring back the sad experiences of 2015 ahead of the general elections in 2019.

The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Effiong, stated this while fielding questions from journalists in Uyo, the state capital.

He said such antics by the opposition to draw up imaginary insecurity was laughable and would heat up the polity in the state.
