The Senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Anambra central senatorial election, Victor Umeh has expressed confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), saying that the election will hold on January 13, in Anambra.

Speaking at the flag off of his campaign at the Alex Ekwueme park in Awka yesterday, Umeh who was former National Chairman of APGA, dismissed the Abuja High court ruling presided over by Justice John Tsoho declaring that Ikechukwu Obiora be sworn in by the Senate president as the senator representing the zone. Umeh recalled that the Appeal court in Enugu, on December7, gave judgment that PDP did not hold any primary for the senatorial election in 2014 and threw the case out.

According to him, the court of Appeal court Enugu is the final bus stop in election matter, saying that no other court of law can challenge the ruling. He expressed doubt the senate president will go ahead to swear in Obiora, insisting that the Supreme Court has already sacked the PDP, stopping it from fielding any candidate. He urged Anambra people especially APGA members to ignore the recent Abuja ruling and come out enmasse to vote for him come January 13.
