The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in its bid to wrest power from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 6, 2021 governorship election, has unveiled the Advisory Council, Elders Forum and Campaign Committee, which will serve as the party’s gubernatorial campaign organisation.

To this end, it has mobilised its gladiators, including former governor and vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi; Senator Stella Oduah (Co-Chair); Senator Uche Ekwunife and serving and former National and State Assembly members, to deliver its candidate, Valentine Ozigbo.

In the list of the campaign council, made available to The Guardian, yesterday, are former governorship aspirants, including Winston Udeh; members of House of Representatives for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Chris Azubogu, Dr. Ifedi Okwenna, Emeka Etiaba and Ugochukwu Okeke.

A seasoned administrator, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, was appointed to serve as the director-general of the campaign organisation to run its day-to-day activities.

Chairman of the Council, Ekwunife, who spoke during the inauguration, yesterday, sought a cordial relationship with some aggrieved stalwarts of the party, including Chiefs Chris Uba and Linus Ukachukwu, who she contended, were party leaders who had laboured in the past for the progress of the party.

The senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, who pledged her commitment in the assignment, described the emergence of Ozigbo as a product of providence.

In his remarks, Ozigbo appreciated party leaders, members and supporters for delightfully and openly embracing the campaign project, stressing that the party is on an unprecedented historical path for a united and strong party in the build up to the forthcoming election.
