Political stakeholders in Kiru and Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano state have unanimously endorsed Abdulmumin Jibril Kofa represent the consistency for the fifth term under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Jibril, former Chairman House Committee on Appropriation, emerged as consensus candidate of APC at the ongoing party consensus screening meeting holding at the government house.
The serving lawmaker gained the overwhelming knob of the party stakeholders’ after a broad consultation and agreement among key political leaders across the constituency, in what observers described as a major show of unity and confidence in Kofa’s leadership.
Chairman of the stakeholders’ forum, Ahmad Ali Yako, who announced the endorsement at government noted the unanimous decision was based on Kofa’s track record of representation, commitment to grassroots development, and consistent engagement with the people of Kiru and Bebeji.
He noted that the constituency has continued to witness political inclusion and developmental progress under Kofa’s representation, adding that the stakeholders believed continuity would further strengthen the gains already recorded.
Reacting to the development,Kano Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf commended the stakeholders for reaching a common understanding, describing the consensus as a reflection of political maturity and unity of purpose.
The governor commended the party leaders and community stakeholders in the constituency for putting collective interest above personal ambition, urging them to sustain the spirit of cooperation ahead of future political engagements.
The endorsement is being seen as a significant boost for Abdulmumin Kofa’s political standing as preparations gradually build toward the next electoral cycle.
