APC faults Plateau’s cabinet reshuffle
Governor Caleb Muftwang’s minor cabinet reshuffle and suspension of four members in Plateau State on Tuesday has elicited anger and reaction from the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), which described the exercise as illogical and biased, noting that the affected officials were all from the southern part of the state.
He had approved the immediate suspension of four key officials, including the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Chrysanthus Dawam; Commissioner for Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality, Jamila Tukur; Special Adviser on Rural Development, Dio Lamul, and Liaison Officer for Mikang Constituency, Moses Sule.
A statement yesterday by the State APC Acting Publicity Secretary, Shittu Bamaiyi, insisted that the suspension was biased and skewed against the southern part of the state.
It reads: “The affected cabinet members are, two commissioners, a special adviser, and a liaison officer from Qua’an Pan and Mikang local government areas, of the southern part of Plateau State.”
“It is expected that, under a sane clime and in an ideal situation, the government owes the people of the state explanations, as to the reason for the suspension of the four cabinet members”.
