APC releases timetable for Rivers congresses

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released the timetable for the 2024 Rivers State Elective Congresses, set to commence on November 2.

he APC National Organising Secretary, Malam Suleiman Argungu, who gave the announcement in a statement in Abuja on Friday, added that aspirants for the chairmanship and vice chairmanship positions will be required to pay N3 million and N2.5 million, respectively, for the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms.

For local government chairmanship aspirants, the form is priced at N100,000.

The statement also indicated that female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities are to purchase the Expression of Interest form with a 50 per cent discount on the nomination form.

It added, “Youths aged 25 to 40 should also purchase the Expression of Interest form with a 50 per cent discount on the nomination form.”

Furthermore, it was noted that only financial members who have paid membership dues of N200 per month for at least three months prior to the delegate congress will be qualified to vote at the Ward Congress.

Argungu confirmed that the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms would be available for purchase at the Directorate of the Organisation at the national headquarters of the APC in Abuja.

According to the revised timetable and schedule of activities, the composition of the screening and appeal committee will occur on October 18, with the last date for submission of completed forms set for October 21.

The congress to elect state executive council members is scheduled for November 9.
