The Bayelsa State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday, cleared 24 delegates for the non-elective national convention of the party. The delegates, nominated across the eight local council areas of the state, were selected through affirmation, following an agreement by all the council chapters of the party.

The Secretary of the committee, Mrs. Mildred Ezoh, who came from the National Secretariat, said the committee’s job was simplified by the decision of the party members in the state to adopt affirmation.

“We came from Abuja for this exercise and we have done what we are supposed to do. It is either by election or affirmation. I have been directed to conduct this election,” she said. The state Chairman, Chief Tiwe Oruminighe, described the exercise as peaceful and devoid of rancour.
