Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, Chief Uche Nnaji, yesterday, unveiled Tagbo Ogara, who is a lawyer, as his running mate, saying the tedious process of choosing a deputy caused the delay in making a choice.

Addressing party members, who gathered at the South East zonal office of the party in Enugu for the exercise, Nnaji stated that he decided to take his time in arriving at the choice of Ogara, because he wanted someone of impeccable character.

“I wanted a matching quality. It was a difficult and tedious for me, because I know the enormity of responsibilities in Enugu. It is not something one man can shoulder, no matter how strong he is. Thank God that, finally, we have arrived at the choice of Ogara. He would be assisting me in the campaign to win Enugu and run the governance of our state thereafter,” he said.

Nnaji noted that since winning the governorship ticket of the party, he had traversed the length and breath of the state, meeting residents in their wards and expressed regrets over the level of dilapidation of infrastructure in the state.

“The tours exposed us to Abuja and rural politicians. We have discovered so much infrastructural deficit in the rural areas; several places do not have access roads, water, electricity and functional health centres.

“We were crying in Enugu urban not knowing the suburbs are in terrible condition. But I want to assure you that what we have seen inside and outside Enugu urban will spur us to do well if elected,” he added.
