Five candidates in the 2019 elections, who vied for seats in the National Assembly from Bauchi State, have chided the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for refusing to issue Certificates of Return to them as ordered by Justice Bello Kawu of the High Court sitting in Abuja.

After their argument, Justice Bello on May 16 nullified the votes scored by the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the grand that the party failed to conduct a valid primary in the five affected constituencies.

“The court ordered the second defendant, INEC, to issue Certificates of Return to the second runner up,” candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Bauchi South Senatorial District, Mr. Garba Dahiru said at a press conference, yesterday. He listed the affected constituencies to include Bauchi South Senatorial district, Alkaleri/Kirfi federal constituency, Darazo/Ganjuwa federal constituency, Zaki and Gamawa federal constituencies.
