Following the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State and the suspension of the state’s legislature, the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Oversight of Emergency Rule has commenced the screening of nominees appointed by President Bola Tinubu to key commissions in the state.

The nominations cover the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), Civil Service Commission, and Local Government Service Commission.
