Wants monarchs, others to call him to order
A pressure group, the Ekiti South for Governor Forum, (ESGF), has cautioned former Minister of State for works, Dayo Adeyeye, against abusing Prof. Olusola Kolapo Eleka.

The coordinator of the forum, Omotosho Okeya gave the charge yesterday while addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti.

He urged traditional rulers, opinion and spiritual leaders from the southern senatorial zone to call him to order.

The group said Eleka represents the interest of the Ekiti south to produce governor since its inception in 1996.

Adeyeye, who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had recently queried Governor Ayodele Fayose’s source of funds in allegedly bribing teachers and other people in the state.

He raised the issue in a press statement by his campaign organisation’s Director of Press, Mr. Niyi Ojo.

He alleged that the governor has been distributing money to teachers, civil servants and certain individuals, to vote for his anointed candidate in the poll.

The group said Adeyeye had enjoyed robust opportunity to serve in several capacities, including Minister of State for Works, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, and Chairman of the Ekiti State University Governing Council, all with the support of Fayose.

Okeya stressed that it was unbecoming of Adeyeye to continue to disparage the personality of Olusola, who is also his brother from Ekiti south.

He added that Adeyeye was given an ample opportunity to emerge as the PDP standard-bearer in free, fair and credible primaries, but lost due to his unpopularity.

He accused Adeyeye of pursuing selfish interest by joining the APC to work against the agenda of Ekiti south, which he was actively involved in before his defection.

The group urged Adeyeye to quit the stage for younger aspirants to also benefit from the PDP, and stop the campaign of calumny against Olusola.

“It is in public records that the former minister got all his past positions with the support, effective collaboration and approval of Fayose, whom he has also been disparaging and blackmailing.

“Adeyeye has displayed bad loser’s syndrome and uncommon spirit of avarice and self centeredness, by joining the opposition against a party that made him,” the group said.

The forum commended Fayose for supporting the Ekiti South agenda in Olusola.

It said: “It is an irony that Adeyeye is now calling Olusola a crony of Fayose. But, if every beneficiary of Fayose, which includes Adeyeye were to be called a crony, then, he is a super crony of Fayose.”
