The Middle-Belt Pan Nigerian Forum has commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for appointing Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki as Zonal Director for Youth Mobilisation, North Central, of the party’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by its spokesperson, Dr. Danladi Ceceko Dangana, the Forum described the appointment as recognition of Seriki’s record of youth empowerment, organisational capacity and service across Kwara State and the North Central region.

“We commend the APC leadership for finding Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki worthy of this strategic position,” Dangana said.

He described Seriki’s appointment as a reflection of his track record of service and commitment to the development and empowerment of young people.

The Forum said Seriki had, over the years, established himself as an advocate for youth and women’s empowerment through programmes providing educational scholarships, skills acquisition training, entrepreneurship grants, start-up capital, mentorship and access to economic opportunities.

It added that women in several communities had also benefited from interventions aimed at improving livelihoods and promoting economic independence.

According to the Forum, Seriki’s sustained engagement with young people has helped him build relationships and goodwill among youths in Kwara and across the wider North Central region.

“Ambassador Seriki will have little difficulty mobilising young people for the APC because he already has their ears and their goodwill,” Dangana said.

“This is the direct result of years of deliberate investment in their education, businesses, and overall well-being. He has walked the talk of human capital development long before political appointments came his way.”

The group also urged politicians and public office holders across Nigeria to prioritise sustained youth empowerment rather than limiting interventions to electoral periods.

The Forum argued that national development requires deliberate investment in the skills, talents and aspirations of young Nigerians.

“Ambassador Seriki has dedicated a significant part of his life to uplifting others and building human capital. This is the kind of leadership Nigeria needs at every level,” the statement said.

“We urge more political actors to follow this example of consistent, people-centred empowerment that transcends electoral cycles.”

Expressing confidence in Seriki’s ability to execute his new assignment, the Forum said his experience, networks and longstanding engagement with young people would be valuable to the APC’s mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We have no doubt that Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki will deliver on this mandate with excellence,” Dangana said.

“We therefore enjoin him to continue putting in his absolute best, as he has always done, in ensuring effective youth mobilisation for the APC across the North Central zone.”

The Forum further described Seriki as a suitable choice for the position, citing his record of engagement with young people and community-focused empowerment initiatives.

“There is no better person to lead youth mobilisation for the APC in the North Central than Ambassador Yahaya Seriki. His record speaks for itself, and the young people of the region know him as a true partner in progress,” it said.

The Middle-Belt Pan Nigerian Forum reiterated its commitment to initiatives promoting inclusive development, youth participation in democratic processes and national unity.
