The Ataoja of Osogbo Land, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, has sparked a trance-like rapture among critical stakeholders and the generality of the residents of Osogbo who attended the commissioning of Lameco Flyover Bridge when he endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for second term.
Oba Olanipekun threw the crowd into ecstasy when he thanked the governor for his mega projects in the ancient town and declared support for his re-election bid.
According to him, if he were to be a politician, he would have instructed all indigenes and residents of Osogbo to vote Adeleke during the August 15 governorship election.
“Governor Ademola Adeleke has done so much in Osogbo. If I were to be a politician, I would have asked that all Osogbo people vote Governor Adeleke enmasse,” the monarch declared in Yoruba language amidst applause from the crowd.
Meanwhile, the Imole Campaign Council has extended profound appreciation to Oba Olanipekun for what it described as “his inspiring and fatherly remarks during the commissioning of the LAMECO Overhead Bridge.”
The Council noted with deep respect the Royal Father’s heartfelt acknowledgment of the developmental strides recorded under the administration of Governor Adeleke, saying, “His Royal Majesty’s commendation of the infrastructural progress witnessed across Osogbo and his open endorsement of the Governor for a second term, based on what he described as unprecedented performance in office, reflect the genuine aspirations of the people and the growing confidence in purposeful governance.”
Pelumi Olajengbesi, Spokesperson of Imole Campaign Council (TICC), in a statement, on Thursday, said, “The Imole Campaign Council regards the Ataoja’s words as a powerful affirmation of leadership that is visible, people-focused, and impact-driven. His intervention at such a significant public event further underscores the critical role traditional institutions continue to play in fostering unity, development, and civic encouragement in Osun State.
The Council also reiterates its commitment to sustaining engagement with stakeholders across all sectors, ensuring that governance remains anchored on transparency, accountability, and measurable progress for the benefit of all citizens.
Once again, we salute His Royal Majesty for his wisdom, courage, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Osogbo and Osun State at large.”
