Imo APC flays Okorocha over comments on party’s congress
The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has berated the former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, over his comments regarding the party’s congress held last Saturday.
The exercise produced the entire state executive members led by McDonald Ebere, a strong loyalist of the current governor, Hope Uzodimma, through consensus process.
But Okorocha, who currently represents Imo West in the Senate, through his media aide, Sam Onwuemeodo claimed ignorance of the exercise, describing it as birthday jamboree of the governor.
HOWEVER, the Imo APC spokesman, Cajetan Duke, who spoke with The Guardian, described Okorocha’s comments as unfortunate, disappointing and laughable.
He said Okorocha and his cohorts had refused to embrace the reality by pledging allegiance to the party leadership in the state.
According to him, in as much as the newly-elected executives were charged by Uzodimma to reconcile all aggrieved party faithful and bring them back to the party, we are not going to force Okorocha or anybody to do the needful.
