The JAGABA/KAURA Students’ Mandate 2027, Kebbi State Chapter, on Thursday, inaugurated campus ambassadors across tertiary institutions in the state to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The initiative, according to the group, is aimed at strengthening engagement with students and providing platforms to showcase the achievements of the two administrations in education, youth development and governance.

In a statement, the Kebbi State Coordinator of the movement, Comrade Faisal Abdullahi, said the initiative recognised students as critical stakeholders in governance and the need to involve them in discussions about development and leadership.

He said the group would particularly focus on mobilizing people due to exceptional projects on education and human-capital development as these are among the priority areas of the administration of Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris.

According to him, the group’s engagement is informed by the interventions of the federal and Kebbi State governments in education, skills development and youth empowerment.

The group noted that the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has introduced programmes aimed at improving access to higher education and expanding opportunities for young Nigerians.

According to the group, President Tinubu has introduced several interventions aimed at expanding access to education and improving opportunities for young Nigerians through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which provides funds to students in tertiary institutions to cover tuition fees and upkeep costs.

He added that the movement would continue to galvanise support for governor and president because of their policies that expand access to education, improve the quality of learning, and create economic opportunities for young people.

Abdullahi said: “The future of Kebbi State depends significantly on the quality of education and opportunities available to its young people. Students must therefore be active participants in conversations about governance, development and the future of our state.

“Our Campus Ambassadors initiative is intended to strengthen that engagement and ensure that students have access to information about policies and programmes that affect their lives.”

He called on students to reciprocate the gesture by participating actively in the delivery of the second term for the president and the governor in the interest of sustainable development and accountable leadership.

He said the scheme would reduce the financial burden on students and their families while enabling more young Nigerians to pursue higher education.
