Labour Party (LP) in Rivers State has endorsed the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Sim Fubara, for the Saturday, March 11 election.

LP chairman Dienye Pepple announced Fubara’s endorsement in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

He noted that the decision to endorse Fubara was in the interest of equity, fairness, and balance in the state.

Pepple in the company of other LP members explained that the Southeast Senatorial District in Rivers State where Fubara hails from was yet to produce a governor in the state.

Fubara will contest the Rivers State governorship election with the likes of Tonye Cole of the All Peoples Congress (APC) and flag bearer for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Magnus Abe.

Meanwhile, Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has expressed confidence in Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, to emerge victorious.

Wike said the duo has the experience and also what it takes to consolidate on the gains the current administration made while continuing in the same development strides.
