Prominent businessman and philanthropist, Mr Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, has made a massive donation to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, thereby giving a significant boost to the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise in the state.
In a move aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts, Ajose, through his foundation, provided an array of logistics materials and a cash donation to the chairmen of the 57 local council areas in Lagos State.
The presentation, held yesterday at the Cathedral Church Primary School on Broad Street, came just as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) kicked off the CVR exercise.
The donated items include 57 HP desktop printers, 57 Lenovo laptops, 57 generators, 57 MTN Wi-Fi devices with a six-month subscription, 57 electric standing fans, 57 surge protectors, 57 HP mice, and public awareness banners. In addition to the equipment, Ajose also presented a sum of N200,000 to each of the 57 council chairmen to facilitate mobilisation for the six-month exercise.
Speaking at the event, Ajose, a native of Badagry, cited the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration as the driving force behind his support. “The secret of continuity is to win elections,” he stated.
He emphasised that securing massive votes is paramount and can only be achieved if citizens have their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). “We want the exercise to go to the grassroots, reach the common man and make a positive change in our society,” he added.
He further linked the donation to the need for “massive and bulk votes” to ensure Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, which, he believes, will allow the President to continue landmark projects, such as the Lagos-Calabar expressway and the planned seaport in Badagry.
