NDC Sets Up Utomi, Galadima-Led Panel to Resolve Post-Primary Disputes

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has inaugurated a high-powered National Reconciliation Committee chaired by renowned political economist, Prof. Pat Utomi, to reconcile aggrieved aspirants and resolve disputes arising from the party’s recently concluded primaries.

The committee, which has Engr. Buba Galadima as Co-Chairman, is expected to engage aspirants across the country in a bid to restore unity and strengthen the party ahead of the next phase of its political activities.

The decision was announced in a statement jointly signed by the National Chairman of the NDC, Senator Cleopas Moses, and the National Secretary, Mr. Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the seven-member committee also includes Mohammed Sanni Takori as Vice Chairman, Babatunde Alli as Secretary, while Mrs. Dudu Mamman Manuga, Hon. Salvador Adegoke Moshood and Alhaji Haruna Pai will serve as members.

The party further constituted three zonal reconciliation sub-committees for the North, South-South and South-East geopolitical zones to complement the work of the national panel and facilitate grassroots engagement with aggrieved stakeholders.

The NDC said the reconciliation effort was aimed at resolving all outstanding issues stemming from the primaries and fostering cohesion within the party.

The National Reconciliation Committee will be formally inaugurated at the party’s national secretariat at 12 noon on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

The statement added that the full list of members of the national committee and the zonal sub-committees would be released during the inauguration.
