The Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State, Alhaji Aminu Yusuf, has been suspended from his position to allow for investigations of complaints against him.

The decision to suspend him was taken at an emergency meeting of the state working committee at the party’s secretariat in Minna, yesterday.

A statement signed by the State Secretary of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Santali, and made available to The Guardian in Minna, said Yusuf was found guilty of all the allegations brought against him by the Wushishi Council of the party and the Niger North senatorial district, bordering on “gross misconduct, anti-party activities and engaging in conducts unbecoming of a party executive.”

Santali added that the complaints against him had been referred to the disciplinary committee of the party for investigation and reminded all members that no member is above the law and every member should strive to adhere to the rules and regulations of the party, with a view to improving its fortunes in the state.

Sources said Yusuf may have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
