Immediate past Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Enugu, Ben Nwoye, has decried continuous killing of youths of the party in different parts of the state, and urged security operatives to arrest perpetrators.

Nwoye, who is the Co-ordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign, Enugu State chapter, made the call during a prayer session for repose of the souls of two APC youth leaders, Lucky Idoko and Ugwuoke Victor, who were murdered by yet to be identified gunmen at different locations in Igboeze South Council of Enugu, last Saturday.

The APC chieftain, who could not control his emotions during the event, regretted that the recent incident has brought, to four, the number of APC youths that have been killed in recent times in the state.

He also recalled an attempted assassination of his life in 2018 by yet to be identified hoodlums, who invaded his residence in the early hours of that fateful day.

He urged party faithful not to be deterred by what he described as “bad air blowing in the Enugu APC.”

He stressed that political party ought to be about fraternity and relationship, and not killing of members.

Nwoye encouraged members of the party not to abandon families of the deceased, urging them to always visit loved ones they left behind.

He, however, appealed to politicians in the state to eschew politics of bitterness, saying shedding of blood in the name of politics remained an evil act for which perpetrators will definitely face judgment of God.
