Addressing the gathering, Obasa urged party supporters to take the campaign to households, markets, artisan groups, places of worship and community associations, stressing that the party must convert its numerical strength in the constituency into electoral victory.

He said the objective should not be merely to win the election but to surpass the party’s previous voting figures in Agege.

He said the gathering was a demonstration of support for the party rather than a response to criticism or opposition voices.

“There will always be detractors, but we will not listen to the din of the marketplace because no matter what you do, you will never be loved by the enemy,” he said.

The Speaker also appealed to party supporters and other political actors to maintain peace during the campaign and election period.

“We must try to avoid conflict, because at the end of the day, the people will vote for their representatives – the people they truly want. Nobody can force anyone on the people,” Obasa said.
