Oyo dissolves council caretaker committees
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has announced the dissolution of the caretaker committee members in all local councils and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) as their three months’ tenure expires today, Friday, March 19, 2021.
A letter signed by the state’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Bayo Lawal, on behalf of the governor, ordered that the committee members hand over the administration to the heads of local council administration in their respective councils before leaving offices.
The letter, dated March 17, 2021, reads: “Members of the committees are to vacate office latest by Thursday, March 18, 2021.
“To this end, to ensure continuity in all the local councils in the state, the caretaker chairmen should handover to the heads of local council administration in their respective councils before vacating offices.
“Consequently, the Heads of Local Council Administration are hereby directed to take over pending the assumption of elected officials.”
