Peter Obi, Bala Mohammed meet behind closed doors

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, is meeting with the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, in a closed-door meeting.
Obi, who arrived in Bauchi, the state capital, early Thursday morning, was received at Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport at about 9:45 a.m. and proceeded to a meeting inside the Presidential Lodge of the Government House.
The reason for the early morning meeting may not be unconnected to political alignment ahead of 2027.

Bala Mohammed, the incumbent Governor of Bauchi, contested the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 but lost to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Obi has earlier stated that he is interested in a merger that will lift Nigerians out of poverty and improve their quality of life, particularly in healthcare.
“Making sure Nigerians have potable drinking water; making sure the problem of power supply is being solved.
“So, therefore, he is interested strongly in a merger that is driven by ideology and a programme. But if it’s only for the purpose of power, he is not interested,” said the Spokesman of Obi/Datti and Director of Media, Labour Party (LP), Yunusa Tanko.
