… Say wards, associations, vulnerable groups beneficiaries of palliative

The member representing the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo, has distributed 4,500 bags of rice to constituents as part of welfare support to the people of the constituency.

The distribution exercise, held at the Teachers Hall, Okoga, Igbokoda, attracted political leaders, community representatives, youth and women groups, traditional and religious leaders, artisans, and other stakeholders from across the constituency.

The event was chaired by Hon. Victor Kolade Akinjo, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives who represented the constituency.

Under the distribution arrangement, each of the political wards in the constituency received 100 bags of rice, while several associations and interest groups also benefited from the exercise.

Beneficiary groups included the Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM), Ilaje Patriots (GWAMA), National Association of Ilaje Students (NAIS), Federation of Ese-Odo Local Government Students (FELGOS), Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

Others are Arogbo-Ibe Ijaw Youth Council (AIIYC), Apoi Youth Council (AYC), National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Federation of Ugbo Youth, and Mahin/Aheri Etikan Youths, as well as artisans, religious leaders, traditional leaders, market women, Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD), and Niger Delta women, among others.

Addressing beneficiaries at the event, Akinjo described the intervention as a demonstration of concern for the welfare of the people, emphasising the importance of food palliative.

He commended Ojogo for what he described as a genuine act of kindness and an expression of legislative responsibility, noting that interventions that directly affect the lives of constituents should be encouraged.

Speaking, Ojogo stressed the need for unity and collective development across the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency, calling on constituents to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to prioritize the President’s re-election in 2027.

According to him, interventions that provide immediate relief to households are important components of efforts to strengthen communities and improve the welfare of the people.

Ojogo further revealed that the rice distributed to the constituents was secured through his facilitation with the National Productivity Centre in Abuja, saying the initiative underscored the importance of utilizing opportunities and federal institutions to attract resources and interventions to the constituency.

The distribution was witnessed by a large gathering of constituents and community stakeholders, while beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing the intervention as timely and useful in addressing household food needs.
