SDP Suspends National Financial Secretary, Oyo Chapter Chairman
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has suspended its National Financial Secretary, Kehinde Ayoola, and Oyo State chapter Chairman, Alhaji Kolawole Balogun from office.A statement signed by National Secretary, Alhaji Shehu Gabam, alerted members and the public that the party’s National Chairman, Chief Olu Falae, exercising the powers of the National Executive Committee (NEC), approved the immediate suspension of the duo over their open and televised endorsement of the Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mr. Seyi Makinde.
Gabam said the decision to suspend them was to serve as deterrence to would-be offenders and guard against gross indiscipline and anti-party activities in the party saying the anti-party disposition of the two officials was unacceptable and condemnable…”
considering that it would generate a conflict of interest between its own governorship candidates in the state, whose interest should tower above any other interest as far as next year’s election is concerned.It announced the appointment of Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole as the acting state chairman for Oyo State, pending further notice.
