Taraba APC endorses Gov Kefas for second term

Governor Agbu Kefas

The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas to continue as governor, citing his leadership role in the party’s transition from opposition to ruling status in the state.

The endorsement was announced Monday by the State Working Committee, through the outgoing state party chairman, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, as its tenure draws to a close, marking what party leaders described as a historic period for the APC in Taraba.

Governor Kefas, who recently defected to the APC, was commended for what party officials called a smooth and peaceful realignment process that strengthened the party’s position across the state. The committee noted that his decision to join the APC facilitated unity among party stakeholders and ensured a rancour-free transition.

The party highlighted the successful conduct of congresses in all 168 wards and the 16 local government areas of the state, describing the exercise as largely peaceful and inclusive.

According to the committee, Taraba also emerged as one of the top-performing states in the party’s electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise, which it said was supported financially by the governor. Party officials added that membership enrollment continues to grow across council wards in the state.

The committee further praised governor Kefas for promoting internal democracy and inclusiveness, noting that ward and local government stakeholders were given due consideration during the congresses.

“With these milestones, Taraba State is now fully integrated and firmly established as an APC state,” the committee stated.

In its formal resolution, the State Working Committee unanimously endorsed Governor Kefas for another term in office, saying the move would enable him to consolidate ongoing projects and introduce new development initiatives.

The party also urged residents of Taraba State to support both Governor Kefas and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the pursuit of national development and unity.
