Two more PDP Reps defect to APC, cite party crisis

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday, lost two more members of the House of Representatives to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The lawmaker representing the Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, Hussaini Jallo, and his Gurara/Suleja/Tafa of Niger State colleague, Adamu Tanko, defected to the APC in separate letters read by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas at plenary.

This brings the number of PDP Reps who have dumped the party for the APC in the 10th National Assembly to six. Aside from Jallo and Tanko, Salisu Koko, representing the Koko-Besse/Maiyama Constituency of Kebbi State, had defected to the ruling party.

Koko’s defection came after Amos Magaji, representing Zango Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, also dumped the party. Chris Nkwonta, a member representing Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency of Abia State and Eriatheke Ibori-Suenu from Delta State had also dumped the PDP for the APC.

In their letters, Jallo and Tanko cited “party crisis and internal divisions” as reasons for their defection.
