A presidential aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Ihechukwu Dallas Chima, has boasted that neither Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi nor Senator Rochas Okorocha, would stop him from clinching the party’s ticket next year.

Chima, who announced his intention to contest the APC Presidential ticket for the 2023 general election at an international press conference at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, said he does not believe in zoning.

While expressing the hope that the APC should not reduce the search for the country’s next president to the base sentiment of zoning, the young presidential aspirant declared that big names like Governor Umahi and Senator Okorocha are not enough to stop him from clinching the APC Presidential ticket.

He maintained that the new generation of leaders are emerging to take over the governance in the country, stressing that old hands and big names should give way to the 80s generation, since according to him, those who set Nigeria back as a non-productive and wasteful nation should have no place in its reconstruction.

He stated: “Economic and political microscopic revelation show that out challenges as a nation results from successive inactions, which led us to the current situation as a nation.”

While advocating that it takes commitment to understand the challenges and appropriate solution required, Chima regretted the many failed policies and programmes that define the country’s development.

“Our problem is making the right policies at the right time and placing them on the right perspective. 2023 is not a time for Nigeria as an entity and Nigerians as a people to gamble. Its time that Nigeria must arise,” he stated.

Advancing Nigeria Must Arise as his clarion call for action, the APC chieftain argued that since the time to build Nigeria is now, “Nigeria Must Arise agenda for 2023 is a vision we all must support to bring to power a government that has the passion and strategies to put this nation ahead, beyond economic and security limitations.”
