Firm launches ExpoBridge Africa to connect global manufacturers with construction opportunities

BuildDirect Africa has launched ExpoBridge Africa, a platform designed to connect global manufacturers with Africa’s expanding construction and infrastructure market.

Africa’s construction and infrastructure sector is undergoing rapid transformation as urbanisation, population growth, and large-scale development projects continue to reshape cities across the continent.

With increasing demand for modern building systems, architectural finishes, construction technologies, and advanced materials, international manufacturers are paying closer attention to opportunities emerging within African markets.

However, while the potential is significant, many global companies face challenges entering unfamiliar markets. Identifying credible industry relationships, understanding market dynamics, and establishing effective engagement pathways often remain major barriers.

In response to this growing opportunity, BuildDirect Africa has launched ExpoBridge Africa, a platform designed to facilitate structured engagement between international manufacturers and Africa’s expanding construction and built-environment sector.

The initiative reflects BuildDirect Africa’s broader vision of strengthening commercial connections between global manufacturers and opportunities within Africa’s rapidly developing construction industry.

ExpoBridge Africa aims to create pathways for international companies to explore African markets while connecting with professionals across the construction value chain, including developers, contractors, architects, consultants, procurement specialists, and distributors.

According to Oghenetejiri Odiete, founder and Managing Director of BuildDirect Africa, the concept behind ExpoBridge Africa emerged from years of practical experience within the construction and building materials sector.

Odiete, an estate surveyor and valuer, as well as a member of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), explained that many global manufacturers are increasingly interested in Africa but often lack the industry insight and local relationships required to engage effectively with the market.

“Africa represents one of the most promising growth frontiers for the global construction industry,” he said. “However, successful engagement requires understanding the market ecosystem, building trusted relationships, and connecting with professionals who are already active within the sector. ExpoBridge Africa was developed under BuildDirect Africa to help create that bridge.”

For nearly two decades, BuildDirect Africa has operated within the construction and built-environment sector, with involvement spanning architectural façade development, building materials sourcing, and collaboration with project stakeholders across the industry.

Through this long-standing industry engagement, BuildDirect Africa has developed relationships with a broad professional network across the African construction landscape.

This experience, according to the company, provides the foundation for ExpoBridge Africa’s approach to connecting international manufacturers with relevant stakeholders within Africa’s growing construction ecosystem.

Industry observers note that Africa’s built-environment sector is entering a period of sustained expansion, driven by population growth, urban development, and increasing investment in infrastructure and real estate.

As demand rises for modern construction technologies, façade systems, building finishes, and innovative materials, platforms that facilitate engagement between global manufacturers and local industry participants are expected to play an increasingly important role.

Through ExpoBridge Africa, BuildDirect Africa aims to position itself within this emerging space by creating opportunities for international manufacturers to better understand and explore Africa’s evolving construction market.

While still in its early stages, the initiative reflects both the growing international interest in Africa’s construction sector and BuildDirect Africa’s ambition to contribute to strengthening commercial bridges between global manufacturing and African development.
