The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), plans to deliver 102 units under its cooperative housing project.

The Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi, who disclosed this at inauguration of a mass housing scheme for officers and men of the Corps with the first batch of beneficiaries receiving keys to their three-bedroom detached bungalows in Abuja, pledged to improve staff welfare and boost their morale in the fight against banditry.

The CG while handing over keys to excited homeowners, said 22 prototype houses have been completed and delivered by the contractor, while the construction of 102 others, consisting three and two-bedrooms apartments at Kuje, Abuja would commence in earnest.

He explained that efficiency in service delivery and optimal performance of an officer can only be achieved when the welfare of such officer is guaranteed. He stressed that the corps would give utmost priority to their welfare.

Audi said: “I am glad you are all witnesses to this laudable achievements. Keys are being handed over to officers and we are also laying a new foundation for another 102 buildings, consisting three bedrooms and two bedrooms within the estate.”

Also speaking, the chairman, NSCDC National Headquarters’ Cooperative Multipurpose Society, Aina Jones, commended the CG for playing a fatherly role as the patron of the society.

He noted that the CG at his 100 days in office promised that his officers would be house owners before his one-year tenure in office and this has been fulfilled.

He commended the CG for monitoring the project and making necessary corrections when the project was under construction, which culminated into the realisation of the project, the buildings commissioned and keys handed over to the beneficiaries.
