In order to meet the demands of customers, ace designer and owner of eponymous label, Ade Bakare, has opened a new boutique in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

The designer, who is based in London where he established his label in 1991 after graduating in Fashion Design in Manchester, initially sold his ready-to-wear line to shops and stores in the UK. He then set up his couture line to cater for his private clients in Mayfair.

It was the success of his couture and bridal lines that brought him to the attention of Nigerians who flew to his London Atelier for fittings. Bakare set up his couture shop in Victoria Island in 2006 at Sandiland Arcade where he is still based on Muri Okunola .

The ready-to-wear line was established in Lagos in 2014 for clients who wanted to buy off the rack and not have to wait months for an outfit and the success of this line saw Ade setting up a branch in Abuja.

The new Lekki shop on Admiralty Road will offer exciting designs in beautiful fabrics that Bakare has become synonymous with such as lace dresses, silk adire blouses, crepe palazzo trousers, gazar silk jackets and more, alongside his perfume and a new footwear line of slippers. Couture clients would, however, still have to visit his Victoria Island Ateliers or fittings alongside brides.

The shop will stock mainly his new ready-to-wear lines and some of the couture and bridals.
