Adeyemi launches guide for Music PR
With a career spanning over five years, fast-rising music public relations consultant, David Adeyemi has taken the bull by the horn with the launch of a book on music titled Music Promotion: A Guide To Hacking The Damn Thing.
The launch, which took place at BMC Hotel, in Victoria Island on May 7, 2022, gives a fresh perspective on breaking through in the Nigerian music industry, one of the most competitive music industries worldwide.
Within the book, Adeyemi explores the arduous journey of breaking into the scene in his first major publication. It sheds more light on what it means to market, advertise, publicize and ‘do PR’. The book also highlights artistes who have hacked the PR part of their careers with the likes of Adekunle Gold, Ruger, Yemi Alade and Blaqbonez amongst others.
The book is an eye opener for the contemporary emerging artistes and music enthusiasts who are in the business of promoting, marketing and handling the PR aspect.
The panelists were present to take the audience through a worthy and explanatory session with Dolapo Amusat of WeTalkSound, the moderator of the panel, Wale Ozolua of ONErpm, Dapo Ayo-Adeusi of Triller Africa and Mira Udoh of Mavin Records kickstarted the discussion on ‘How to hack music pr and promotion’.
“There is a very thin line between PR and Publicity. While the latter is project specific and bound, the former gives a wider angle as to how artistes are perceived by fans. Publicity is not a replacement for PR.’ The author, David Adeyemi said while closing the event with a vote of thanks and expressing gratitude to everyone who showed up at the event of his new achievement after which he took to his twitter page (@AdeyemiDavid_) to show appreciation to all sponsors and partners.”
Adeyemi began his career as an entertainment reporter and editor, covering events and publicising them across social media platforms. He later nestled in the entertainment PR. He was a social media consultant and strategist with a series of campaign successes to his name.
