Fast rising female Afro-pop and R&B act Lamili, is back with a new single title, Love Me Proper. The video of the new hit shot in Agodi Parks and Gardens was directed by Ruff Ikonz.

Speaking on the new song and video, the radical queen said the concept of the video is to celebrate the beauty of love and romance, stressing that love is highly misunderstood in today’s world.

A graduate of Linguistic and Communication from the University of Port Harcourt, the Anambra State born singer believes that greatness can be achieved if focus and hard work is put into any venture. Hence, her personal mantra is “staying true to one’s self and connected to your inner rhythm.”

Christened Lilian Nkiruka by her parents, Basil and Edith Ojiudu, Lamili developed keen interest in music at an early age and started playing professionally in 2002 with Nick and The Safari band and later moved on with King Sunny Brown Jazz band.

Her first album was recorded sometime in 2007. She got signed to Grafton Records, where she work with hip-hop act, M-Trill on a song titled Crazy Love. Her passion for music was heightened while overseas, performing to an international audience.

“At that moment, I knew I had found my calling. Music is a passion and talent I can’t deny myself,” she said.

Lamili’s musical influence includes Onyeka Owenu and Tracy Chapman. She believes her style of music is original and gets a wider appeal. Currently putting finishing touches to her planned nationwide tour, some of her past works includes, Bend Down, I Wanna Love You, Radical (featuring Timaya) and Together.

From steamy beach scenes to playful city shots, the new video is creating frenzy on the social media.
