Hajia Bola Shagaya Steps Out Again
IN Nigeria today, one woman whose image looms large within the society is Hajia Bola Shagaya, the popular businesswoman and billionaire. This is because she is regarded as the most powerful woman within the corridors of power. Hajia Shagaya earns this title because she is regarded as the closest person to the wives of presidents. This has been so since the days of Nigeria’s military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida. After former President Goodluck Jonathan lost the presidential election a few months back, Hajia Shagaya, who is also a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in Kwara State, chose to maintain a low profile, perhaps to re-strategise and repackage her brand.

But just a few weeks back, she stunned many when she resurfaced. She was one of the female celebrities who brightened up the 80th birthday soiree of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. As she stepped into the venue, her arrival was announced by juju music maestro, King Sunny Ade, causing many to stir in admiration, while others cringed in envy. She looked elegant, sophisticated and dazzling in her outfit. What came as a surprise to many was the realisation that she is Alhaji Tukur’s in-law. It is obvious that Shagaya has since put the election story behind her and is concentrating solely on her business and family.

Ken Caleb Olumese’s Life After Niteshift Coliseum

Like every life loaded with great success and landmark achievements after indelible evidence of hard work and resilience, Ken Caleb Olumese, the owner of the Niteshift Coliseum is at the moment enjoying his retirement after several years of running a numero uno celebrity nite club. The Guvnor, as Olumese is fondly addressed, has been busy with other businesses, most especially his Abuja multi-million naira project which has reached a level that says much about his passion for entertainment business.

The Edo-born socialite has been a night entrepreneur for ages and is one excellent manager who has weathered several stormy economic climes to keep the social terminus floating despite the many setbacks that have be-devilled the Opebi-based club. When fire gutted a part of the building years back, many had thought it would spell doom for the club but Guvnor Ken was too resilient to allow such a legacy end in ruins.

He would later renovate it and get it upgraded to a masterpiece. He no doubt gave club business a classy redefinition that has sustained Niteshift Coliseum where others came, made fleeting statements, and wobbled back into stark oblivion.
