Adenuga, who graduated from UNILAG in 1974, received this honour alongside other alumni of the institution including Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, Executive Governor of Gombe State; Prof. Nimi D. Briggs, Former Vice-Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt and Prince Tony Momoh, former Minister of Information.
He attended the event in the company of his family and close friends, and had this to say: “Over the decades, the University of Lagos has always been dear to my heart as I began my first entrepreneurial endeavour on campus as a student of the institution. I also met my wife and my closest friends here; and I remain grateful for all this and more. This award means a lot to me and I pray that God continues to bless the efforts of the Management, Lecturers, Students and the entire UNILAG Community as a whole.”
In a career spanning over 40 years, Wale Adenuga (MFR) has established several award-winning platforms, which have greatly improved the overall quality of the Nigerian Entertainment Industry; including Superstory and This Life, Papa Ajasco and Company and Nnenna and Friends. Adenuga is founder of the 24-hour family entertainment channel- WAPTV; and the Pencils Film and Television Institute (PEFTI).
