Lagos Pacific Lions Club members, led by the Club’s Project Chairperson, Franca Afe Giwa, recently visited Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ayinke Paediatric Cancer Unit, Ikeja, to donate essential items on behalf of the club

Speaking during the event, the immediate Past President, Dr. Nasir Olatunji, emphasised the importance of supporting children living with cancer. The items donated included bed sheets, sanitary materials, toiletries and others. They were given to the children undergoing treatments at the hospital.

Speaking on behalf of the club’s president, Dr. Razaq Yemisi Anita, Giwa stressed the need to create more awareness on the childhood disease, saying it could help hospitals and foundations that care to assist in treating and supporting children living with cancer. She urged other non- governmental organisations to emulate Lions Club’s kind gesture,

Head Social Welfare Unit, Mrs. Titilayo Kilajolu appreciated the club for its continuous support to the centre, adding that government alone cannot care for the cancer patients and that the “club cares so much about the children living with the scourge.”
