CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele Plans Superlative Burial For Mother
The Nigerian social establishment, captains of industry and several eminent Nigerians are now sitting on edge in anticipation to attend the burial of Madam Alice Emefiele, the mother of Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
A close family source said there are underground moves by the governor to give his mother a befitting burial early this new year as plans have reached and advanced stage. But the details and the burial date are yet to be confirmed. Expectedly, there would be special prayer session for the repose of her soul.
Madam Emefiele died on Christmas day after a brief illness. She was 94 years old. The CBN Governor, who confirmed the news of the death of his mother disclosed that she died at the Intensive Care Unit of St Nicholas Hospital, Lagos.
Madam Emefiele a devout Christian (a Protestant) is survived by seven children. Born in Agbor, in Ikah South Local Government Area of Delta State, she was said to be a petty trader in addition to her farming activities during her lifetime.
