It celebrates rising stars who have demonstrated exceptional talent, vision, and dedication to progress.

Since assuming the role at Tetracore Energy, Olakunle Williams has led strategic initiatives to revolutionize the energy sector. His focus on innovative technology and strategic partnerships aligns with Nigeria’s and Africa’s broader energy goals. Under his leadership, Tetracore has expanded its energy portfolio and strengthened its market position as a key player in the gas downstream sector by providing clean cost effective energy solutions.

In 2022, the Nigeria Gas Association presented Tetracore with the Nigeria Domestic Gas Ambassador Award, acknowledging the company’s commitment to deepening domestic gas utilization. This achievement was followed in 2023 when Tetracore was named Innovative Gas Company of the Year by the Nigeria Gas Investment Forum, recognizing its pioneering contributions to the industry.

With over 16 years of extensive experience across the energy (natural gas and power) value chain, Olakunle Williams has made significant contributions to the industry. His professional journey includes roles as a Consultant on the Energy Desk at Deloitte Nigeria and as a leading Commercial Advisor at the Nigerian Gas Company Limited. He was also a key member of the founding team at its affiliate, the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company Limited.

In recognition of his contributions to the energy sector, He was recognized for the Energy Personality Leadership Prize for African Leadership Excellence in 2021 and by the African Energy Chamber as one of the 25 Energy personalities to watch out for in the African Continent in year 2022.  And in 2023 he was recognized as Nigeria’s Fifty (50) Most Inspiring and Definitive Top CEOs by Guardian Nigeria’s Annual CEO Series. And recently he was named the Nigeria’s Energy Champion at the 2024’s Nigeria Oil & Gas Outlook, presented by the African Energy Series. He was recognized as a driver of economic growth and development by the 2024 Guardian’s special focus on result-driven award. He was also ranked among the top 7 most influential young Nigerian leaders in Africa’s economic development.

Recently, Olakunle Williams was awarded a Professional Doctorate and Corporate Leadership Excellence Award 2024 from the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics (Ghana). Additionally, he was elected to the Governing Board of the Association of Local Distributors of Gas (ALDG) in Nigeria, acknowledging his exemplary leadership.
