2022 GAH-AWARDS showcases fashion at its best

The event themed ‘Promoting Sustainable Economic Growth Through Skill Acquisition’ got the guests thrilled all night long.

The ceremony, which was also a celebration of the organisation’s 10th anniversary and the graduation of GMYT Fashion Academy, featured awards in Humanitarian foundation for the sick 2022, Humanitarian bank, Emerging humanitarian of the year, and others.

The guests were also thrilled with a runway show that revolved around wedding dresses as the graduating students of GMYT Fashion Academy showcased their talents through creating wedding gowns and groom wears.

Founder, GAH-AWARDS and General Managing Director, GMYT Group, Princess Kelechi Oghene, said the firm was planning to empower at least 1000 people next year.

According to him, three graduating students were given start up funds of N500, 000, N300,000 and N200,000 just as 20 sewing machines were given to some of the graduating students.

“This year, we gave out over 300 machines and are looking at giving at least 500 machines even without sponsorship.”

In her keynote speech, the institutional consultant and equity investment expert, SEWA Assets Management Limited, Angela Jide Jones, who noted that the focus of the GAH-AWARDS is to promote sustainable economic growth through skills acquisition, called for investments in innovation and skills acquisition. “The future is shaped by the investments made today,” she said.
