Harrysong delights fans with new EP, Right About Now
The EP, a nine-tracker, produced by Dalorbeats, featuring the likes of Davido, Stoneboy, Toofan, Hero, and Rudeboy, was recently unveiled in Lagos with a small celebration.
In a chat with The Guardian, the singer said the new body of work is what he uses daily to encourage himself in achieving things. He added that three songs, which are the main tracks, are currently occupying the top three positions online.
The Raggae Blues crooner, who was also unveiled as the brand ambassador for Popl Nigeria, a contact-sharing platform stated that he was in the studio all through the lockdown period, working on the EP.
Mr Songz explained that he was able to survive the lockdown as an artiste due to his ability to monetize his contents online. “I made sure my contents are monetized online whilst sourcing for other little businesses by the side,” he said.
He urged his fans and lovers of good music to go online and download the EP and let him know their favourite track while advising them to remain strong despite these difficult times in the country.
“I want to tell my fans that the Right About Now EP is out and they should go online, download it and let me know their favourite track(s). My fans should know they are not alone and I understand that things are hard currently for everyone but they should try and stay strong because things are going to get better,” he added.
Speaking also during the listening party, producer of the project, Dalorbeats, said a lot went into the production of the EP, adding that the songs will get global recognition due to the choice of tones and patterns used in the production.
“When making music, you need to check what is trending and try to create your own style. My uniqueness is how I play my instruments from my baseline to the bounce of the music. Another unique quality of the EP is that the artiste, Mr Songz poured his heart out like never before,” he said.
Commenting on the choice of singer as its brand ambassador, Ayodeji Ajayi, brand manager, Popl Nigeria revealed that the musician was chosen due to his unique music style, which cuts across the three tiers of their targeted market.
“Harrysong plays in the high-end entertainment level and it speaks to three tiers of our targeted market which is the youths, the working population, and the entrepreneurs. His music cuts across these entire demographic,” Ajayi said.
