Oba of Benin, Erediauwa Ewuare, plans big for fourth year coronation
Eheneden Erediauwa Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, has opted to celebrate his 4th coronation anniversary during this year’s National Festival of Arts and Culture.
The annual festival, which would be simultaneously celebrated with the monarch’s fourth celebration anniversary on the throne, is scheduled to hold on October 26 in Benin, the Edo State capital.
The highly-reverred king disclosed his plan when Otunba Segun Runsewe, Director General of the Council paid him a courtesy visit during the week, saying the festival is a source of promoting national unity among diverse cultures in the country.
“We shall support and encourage Runsewe’s passion and desire for the promotion and preservation of Nigeria’s culture, which every lover of Nigeria’s culture must join hands to sustain.
“Your passion for culture is overwhelming and I am highly impressed at your work rate and efforts to re-position Nigeria’s culture among the comity of nations,” the monarch said.
Runsewe had earlier informed the Oba that his visit was to brief the traditional ruler about the forthcoming festival slated to hold in his domain.
