Notable stage and screen actress, Joke Silva, would likely not accept any screen-acting job until month end.

A source close to the veteran actress hinted that the actress, who is married to legendary actor, Olu Jacob, would be busy superintending the staging of a musical, titled ‘Heartbeat,’ which their production outfit, Lofudo Production, is offering this month.

The musical is anchored on Grace House, a well-known shelter for the homeless.

Grace House finds itself in the middle of a battle between warring forces within their local government area, while preparing for their 25th year anniversary.

Caught between personal and political conflicts, the residents (each with their own share of secrets, fears and flaws) must come together to save the only place they can truly call their own.

Heartbeat explores the themes of love, hate, betrayal, family, identity, politics, homelessness and social justice through the characters that converge in and around Grace House in search of refuge and atonement.

Scheduled to open at the Muson Centre, Lagos from November 10 through November 18, the musical, according to the promoters, is about Lagos, the heartbeat of Nigeria. It is about relationships, the heartbeat of love and hope, the heartbeat of life.
