Fans of Big Brother Naija star Kayode Oladele, popularly known as Kaybobo, have purchased gifts worth millions of naira for him.
In a post shared by one of his fans with the username @kayoticHq on X (formerly Twitter), they revealed that Kaybobo received a fully paid one year rent for a four bedroom duplex in Lekki valued at ₦11 million, furniture and electronics worth ₦12 million, ₦4 million in cash, and an iPhone 17 Pro Max said to have been brought from Canada.
According to the post, the furnished duplex came with complete living room and bedroom sets, including a 75-inch Hisense QLED television, Haier Thermocool air conditioners, an L-shaped sofa, and hand-painted artworks. The kitchen section featured a Haier Thermocool double-door fridge, a Hisense washing machine, a blender, an air fryer, and other home appliances.
The post drew mixed reactions from social media users. While some fans congratulated the reality star for the lavish surprise, others questioned the authenticity of the gesture and how long it would last.
One user, @iamsalesgirl, wrote, “They should have given him the ₦11 million and allowed him to decide where he wants to stay. Then gift him the furniture and electronics.” Another user, @kynthia.x, added, “Who will pay next year’s rent?” doubting the sustainability of such an expensive gift.
However, not everyone saw it negatively. @DelightSimply commented, “Very sensible gift! Once rent is out of your problem, you can think straight, especially in Lagos.” On the other hand, @SteadyStreams24 found the gesture strange, saying, “And you people want me to believe this thing is not a mental illness?”
Another fan, @SMD_jnr, who seemed inspired by the news, wrote “Wow… This is huge mehnnn. Me thinking of how I can audition once and enter immediately, cause I must be in that house. See gifting,” he wrote.
Amid the wave of reactions, some users defended Kaybobo, noting that fan gifting is now a trend among Big Brother Naija followers, who often go all out to show love for their favourite housemates.
Others, however, claimed the gift might have been staged for attention. @_tam_tamse said, “He got the house himself. No fan gifted him… Kaybobo to Kaybobo.
As of the time of this report, Kaybobo has not confirmed or denied the claims. Whether genuine or exaggerated, the post has kept him in the spotlight and stirred up controversy.
